Norma Lucille Doss Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Norma Lucille Doss, age 95, passed away July 11, 2022, in her own bed as she requested. She was born Norma Lucille Elwood, April 23, 1927, in Los Angeles, California to Claud Elwood and Goldie Melderine Lambert Elwood. Norma was a graduate of George Washington High School and after school she worked at many different places from airport parts during WWII to a photographer and retiring from Cahn Instruments in 1978 where she made electro counterbalances that weighed that first rocks from the moon. In 1948 she married Lester K. Doss and had two sons, Robert Lee and William Dale Doss. After raising her sons, she stayed active at work until she retired. Norma was always there for whomever needed anything and was like a mom for so many friends. Norma was a giver and as she aged up in the high desert town of Apple Valley, California she was always crocheting something, creating anything out of paper or baking goods to deliver to her friends in the neighborhood. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and many who did not.... Norma was the last of her siblings to walk this earth. She was predeceased by her mother and father, 3 brothers, and a sister, her husband and her first-born son, Robert Lee Doss and his wife Deborah Dee Doss, 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. There will be no services as Norma will be cremated and her ashes will spread surrounding Gatlinburg, Tennessee and along Sugar Creek in Tennessee at her granddaughter's place.
