Leroy Pink Davis was born on August 31, 1947 in Mullins, South Carolina to his late parents Roxie Godbolt and Henry Davis. Leroy was known as Dave to family & friends in California and Pink to family and friends in South Carolina. He gave his life to God as a child and became a Baptist. He graduated 1965 from Palmetto High School in South Carolina. He left high school and joined the United States Army. He was Honorably Discharged in 1972. Later Dave became a civil service employee at the United States Marine Corps Logistics Base-Barstow, CA for 10 years. He spent many years working as a laundry worker, heavy equipment repairman/operator, janitor, diesel mechanic and warehouse worker on the Marine Base. Dave loved to cook, known for his famous BBQ, for his famous South Carolina Dressing that some family members contributed to the ingredients just to get a taste of. He loved to laugh, to tell jokes, and to listen to music and was knowledgeable of the artists who sang the songs. One of his favorite artist was Gladys Knight, favorite song was “Midnight Train to Georgia”, he would always say “He’s leaving on that Midnight Train to Georgia”. He loved the Los Angeles Lakers, Sparks, Atlanta Falcons, and also watching college baseball. His favorite soap operas were: Young and Restless, All My Children, The Haves and Have Nots, Game Shows: Family Feud, Jeopardy, The Wall and Bingo. A lot of people did not know he also spoke Korean. He was a God Fearing man who was always willing to give and do for others even when he didn't have it to spare. He met the love of his life Linda Thomas-Davis during 1977 whom he spent 44 blessed years together and married for 29 years. In this union they welcomed three beautiful daughters: Latoya, Latera & Roxann. He was preceded in death by his Parents Roxie Godbolt, and Henry Davis, Brother Henry Davis, Jr., Brother-in-law-Charles Ray Thomas; Sisters Doris Moore, and Hattie Moore. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Linda Davis, his children Roxann Davis, Latoya Davis, Latera Davis, all of Barstow, CA; Sandra Evans, of Miami, Florida. One son Daron Hawkins, of Barstow, CA. Three sons-in-law Jason Marks, Monroe Sanders, and Calvin Cummings. 11 grandchildren Mikol Vanright, Chance Evans of Miami, FL, Terrik Davis, Tierra Davis, Terrance Marks, Terrell Marks, Demirus Davis, Tiauna Lindsey, Teralyn Davis, Paris Davis all of Barstow, CA and Ahmari Hawkins of Adelanto, CA. 3 Great-grandchildren Chance Evans,Jr., Jayden Evans, and Chaniya Evans. 3 sisters Ruby Vance, Alice Godbolt and Kay Godbolt of Mullins, SC 7 sisters-in-law Mary Louise Walker of San Bernardino, CA; Ethel Mae Wright of Rialto, CA; Ellen Russell of Canton, MS, Rochelle Barrett of Bloomington, CA; Mary Dale Craven and Glorene Craven of Houston, TX; Lesia Duty Louro of Barstow, CA; Brothers-in-law Kevin Chatham of San Bernardino, CA and Walter Thomas of Houston, TX and Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
