Susan Jean Tippit

Susan Jean (Radofsky) Tippit was born March 5, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA and passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on December 1, 2023 at home in Adelanto after a year long battle with cancer. Her parents, Morris Radofsky and Margaret Jean (Daleske) Radofsky raised her primarily in the San Gabriel Valley, (Pasadena, Temple City and West Covina). She attended St. Christopher’s grammar school and graduated in 1965 from Edgewood High School. In 1967 she married her first husband and had 2 daughters, Julie Christine (Lowry) Garcia and Janine Marie Lowry. She also had a foster daughter, Marianne (Carrick) Maron. In 1979 she married David L. Tippit, a man she had known in high school. A blended family was formed with Wendy Lee Tippit Wright (Paul), Melissa LynnTippit Cordova (Gino) and David Lloyd Tippit Jr. (Deena). Upon graduation from high school she worked a variety of jobs, ultimately becoming a legal secretary for various firms in the Los Angeles area. She worked in this field for many years. She attended Mt. San Antonio College off and on from 1966-1994, ultimately earning enough credits to transfer to Cal State San Bernardino to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Following her education she obtained a position with the San Bernardino County Social Services Division in Workforce Development. Her primary duties included working with potential employers that would hire clients in the Return to Work program. She retired from SB County in 2012. Sue was always happiest when being creative. She enjoyed writing essays and poems through the years. She was especially gifted in the area of home arts. Through the years many people were recipients of her needlepoint, quilting, crocheting and canning projects. Sue loved to sing and through the years participated in a local band with her husband and good friends. She was away from the Catholic Church for many years and returned with strong commitment. She was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Victorville and also was involved in developing a St. Vincent de Paul chapter in the high desert. At times she would cook up a big pot of soup and drive around the local area handing out containers to members of the unhoused population. When not being creative or volunteering Sue loved traveling and camping in the RV. She always preferred to be at the coast or near a river or lake. Sue is survived by her husband, David L. Tippit and the above mentioned children. She also is survived by her sisters Mary (Radofsky) Alvarado and Margaret (Radofsky) Gonzalez as well as grandchildren Mackenzie and Chloe Hopkins, Skylar Coleman, Kya Zabala, Nicole Limon, Clayton Wright, Jasmine, Desiree and Wyatt Tippit, Anthony Cordova, Brandy Frost, Greg Maron, Amanda Padilla and Krista Pierce, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous beloved cousins and friends throughout the country. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Victorville, CA on January 12, 2024 with a rosary beginning at 10:30 AM. Reception will follow. Burial service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on January 13, 2023 at 11:30 AM.
