David Orlando Cordova

April 25, 1957 – July 11, 2026 David O. Cordova, 69, of Barstow, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. A proud Barstow High School Class of 1975 graduate, David worked as a mechanic for Sears before dedicating nearly 25 years as a civilian federal employee at Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, retiring in December 2019. Known for his quiet strength, incredible work ethic, and unwavering generosity, he was a devoted caregiver to his mother and late brother, Gilroy, and a man who lived to serve his country, family, and community. David was a true car enthusiast whose restored 1963 Chevrolet Impala and 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe were featured in Lowrider magazine. He also loved riding his Harley-Davidson, collecting Hot Wheels and model kits, building LEGO sets, fishing, and creating handmade cards for loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Carmen Cordova, brother Gilroy Cordova, and brother-in-law Oscar Garcia. He is survived by his children: Deanna (Steven) Garcia, Katrina (Andrew) Espinoza, Angelina (Russell) Rivera, Darlene Cordova, and David (Karen Luevano) Cordova Jr.; and extended family member Gabby Villa. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Barney (Jamie) Cordova, Lorella Garcia, Clifford (Bertha) Cordova, and Jerry (Angela) Cordova. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Anissa (Stuart) Davis, Marisa (Joseph) Hampton, Eleyna (Anthony) Ard, Reba Garcia, Isaiah Garcia, Drew (MacKenzie) Espinoza, Gabriel (Marissa) Espinoza, Denise Espinoza, Monica Espinoza, Marcus Rivera, Selena Rivera, Kaileb Vasi, Bryen Ortiz-Luevano, and Victoria Cordova. He was also blessed by his great-grandchildren—Jraco, Olympia, Arya, Felix, Ily, Alder, and Myla (with another granddaughter arriving in January 2027)—along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23 A private Celebration of Life will be held with family and invited friends.
